Seat covers - whatcha runnin?
I tore my seat covers this weekend after wheeling. I have the older 97-02 seats and they had the tan/black Mopar covers, which I really liked.

Time to replace em and I can't find those Mopar ones anymore, so I need to consider my options. What are you guys running for seat covers? I'd like something with a nice fit, easy to clean/maintain, and have some durability to them.

Any pics would be an added plus, and if you know a good source for em, even better!

I used to have some nice saddle blanket ones(on my XJ) that I bought through autozone. Custom fit application, like $80 something. They were great! Stong and when you got them dirty, take em off and toss em in the washer :D

Man if you got the cash wet okole is the bomb. My buddy has those and they are indestructible. I just find that kinda cash to throw down.

Triple88a 07-22-2007 05:54 PM

Any one runing those?

foxinthemudd 07-22-2007 05:57 PM

I just bought a set of Bestop front seat covers from Quadratec.
They are just like my trail cover and match the top, bikini, jammer and duster perfectly. They even match the upholstery on the console in an absolute match. They were $110 including shipping. I have only had them on for a week. I was afraid they would be hot, but so far in 90+ degree weather, they are very comfortable. Just wipe them off with a cloth to clean. They fit pretty tight, the passenger one just wants to balloon a little with the doors off, from the wind getting underneath it. Not bad though.

Those are horrible!!! Had a set for 2 days in my XJ. I think I tore 4 holes in them. Pure crap!

Triple88a 07-22-2007 07:25 PM

Thanks AzTJ.. i was planning on getting them but thanks. Just curious how did you tare them?

AzTJ 07-22-2007 08:26 PM

with the studs on my jeans. Just a little snag and RIIIIIIPP. Was stupid how easy they tore.

RIPBiker13 07-22-2007 11:44 PM

How about these? They are from Quadratec

Triple88a 07-23-2007 12:39 AM

AzTJ thank you for your feedback sir :)

Keep in mind, I have a 97 TJ with the older style seats, not the ones shown in the red/black above.

Walkeraviator 07-23-2007 08:24 AM

They make those covers to fit the old seats too...

erickpl 07-23-2007 08:56 AM

Other colors besides red/black?

i've got some black neoprene rugged ridge covers that i really like because they fit really snugly. i get annoyed at seat covers that slip and slide all over the place and don't fit right. i haven't experienced the dreaded swamp ass either.

kg4kpg 07-23-2007 10:14 AM

I had some like this in my last TJ. They are awesome. They don't fit super tight like the Wet Okole but it isn't too bad. They are super easy to clean also. You can also find them at Auto Zone for 22 a seat.

blownfanswitch 07-23-2007 10:22 AM

I have the wet Okole ones that came with the jeep when i bought it....i won't buy them again. they are a few years old and collect stains like crazy. they also have a bad habit of sliding to one side or the other

I will go for the best top these are the best.My friend has those and they just work great and looks good too,and pretty good materials too.
Now Im investing on wheels, tires & susp. but after that I will go for these seat covers.

Odhinn 07-23-2007 10:53 AM

I had the wet okoles on my old jeep. They were ok. Was not worth the money. They always made my back sweat. And yes they do stain EASY.

Walkeraviator 07-23-2007 11:39 AM

I am just glad my seats are in great shape and dont need covers. Its the one time where getting the cheapest option (Vinyl) paid off.

erickpl 07-23-2007 12:03 PM

My seats have vinyl. It's a 97 TJ, that when I bought it in soCal had ONLY been in soCal. It was a hot, dry area that saw sun 95% of the time. They were cracked when I got em, so the seat covers were pretty much the first purchase.

Walkeraviator 07-23-2007 12:05 PM

I got min efrom an old man here in KY. I would say that the top had never been off it more than twice until I owned it. And It sat in a garage, so I lucked out on the interior. It is flawless. The problem was that when he bought it, he bought it as the cheapest thing he could get without gettin 4 cylinders.

RIPBiker13 07-23-2007 01:36 PM

How are the neoprene? The look like they fit nice and tight. I want something because I run off road and kick up dirt into my seats, not much fun being that my Jeep is band new.

Too bad they look like crap with the bucket seats i have.. i tried them.. they were all stretching so the back was all messed up and looked really bad. It wouldnt stay in the back of the seat like its suppose to. My current seat covers are nice but i hate the color.
