You are going to have to help us out a little bit with your stock gears, there are a few combinations, but I would say if you are looking for "stock" street performance, you will need 4.88's or deeper for 38's.

by stock i ment something around stock performance no lift and small tires. i know there are several combos from the factory so lets just say 3.73's and 30's

Everything else aside you would need 5.13 gears to bring it back to stock performance. However the D30 won't go that deep if you are planning on staying with that.

x2

I would think about axle upgrades as well instead of just gearing. With 38's you might want to look into some full widths.

am going to do an axle upgrade, hell im changing out both housings. i was thinking of putting 5.33ish but just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Cool. If your going with 60's or 14 bolts then you can get very deep gearing to where it wouldn't be any kind of an issue.

jeeperman 01-24-2006 03:34 PM

Yeah, if you are going with something that will hold 5.33's then go for it. I know a couple guys that are running that ratio that are SLOOOOWWWWW on the trail, and they love it!
