Tire Brand

What is your brand of choice?

4Jeepn 07-25-2007 10:09 PM

Last two sets have been Super Swampers
Trxus
TSL

before that ran BFG MT's
and before that ran BFG at's

debruins 07-25-2007 10:13 PM

pro comp

4point 07-25-2007 10:15 PM

Boy, your going to get a lot of answers on that one. I'm currently running Dynapro MT's and they are wearing real good, But I'm absolutley torn on what I'll replace them with. Probably going to go with BFG Muds, but that'll be a couple of years down the road so I have lots of time to figure it out.

kg4kpg 07-25-2007 10:16 PM

Well, since I'll be strapping on new BFG M'T's next week, there you go.

MR.CLIFFORD 07-25-2007 10:44 PM

Hmm. For trail and street I have a hard time suggesting anything other than the Toyo Open Country MTs. Excellent tire. I've owned, MT/Rs, Toyos, Trxus, Iroks, and Timberlines, and BFG MTs. Out of them all I would suggest the Toyos if you can find them in your size. The only real downfall to the toyo MTs is their weight!

AzTJ 07-25-2007 10:44 PM

BFGoodrich FTW!

Next set: Cooper or ProComp

Hackle 07-25-2007 11:03 PM

I am runing IROC's. If I could afford them I would have
Red Label Mickey Thompson Claws.

1BLKJP 07-25-2007 11:19 PM

You know Mickey's are my weapon of choice Donnie. I'm pretty sure I know what this is about so let me throw down some of the popular brands.

Goodyear
BFGoodrich
Mickey Thompson
ProComp
Cooper
Super Swamper
Trxus
Pit Bull
Toyo
Parnelli Jones
Dick Cepek
Nitto
Maxxis

You had to get out the Quadratec catalogue for this one didn't you?

4point 07-25-2007 11:23 PM

Hey, you forgot Big-O-Tire.

lucky bastid!! I get a new one monthly! WTF are they thinking? I've never purchased anything from there. Ever. And never will. I guess it is handy to have around if you ever run out of toilet paper!

Scout 07-25-2007 11:28 PM

I put you on their mailing list. It's your source for hardcore parts. I thought.

MR.CLIFFORD 07-25-2007 11:37 PM

You didn't. I've been getting new issues for the past 5 years. Their junk hardly fits in my mailbox. Maybe I should call, buy a new soft top, then ask that they change my address to Tejas!!

1BLKJP 07-25-2007 11:41 PM

I think I must've pissed them off bagging on their prices on web forums. They just cut me off. :D

Scout 07-25-2007 11:43 PM

Oh don't worry I get plenty of that stuff in the mail here already. It must have been all that chrome I ordered a couple of years ago. :D

2much 07-25-2007 11:44 PM

I run Mickey Thompson MTZ's and like them so far, but I am really a bfg guy, I guess you could just say they made me a deal that I couldn't refuse on the MTZ's, so since they look so good, I would have been stupid to go ahead and get bfg's, I hope I don't regret this down the road

deverhart 07-26-2007 03:23 AM

im not up to anything jack and it hurts me that you would imply such. But now that you mention it, since there is such a good list here I will go ahead and add those options on the other thing im working on :flipoff:

naterg 07-26-2007 04:30 AM

BFG all the way. Never had a bad experience with them.

Walkeraviator 07-26-2007 09:36 AM

Im gonna be the cheap B@st@rd that says I like General Tires. I am broke trying to pay off college so I like that I can get a quiet long lasting A/T tire that actually does really well in All Conditions like teh tire implies, and all for around $100 a tire.

NalinMFG 07-26-2007 10:40 AM

I'm real happy with my Goodyear "Wrangler" MTR's

mrbigjeep 07-26-2007 07:01 PM

i like my bfg's...

next tire will probably be a mastercraft mud terrain. buddy has it on his YJ. good tire.

MouthfulOfGrass 07-26-2007 08:51 PM

If I had the money, Toyo M/T's all the way. Next would be the Goodyear MT's. 3rd, Maxxis . I got Maxxis A/T's for my stock size set and really liked them. Still got 'em in the garage. Wife loves that.

hardy1531 07-26-2007 09:40 PM

Love my Pro Comp X terrians

Scoob 07-26-2007 10:07 PM

Mickey Thompson all the way.

Ran Goodyears and BFG's before but the MTZ is superior to both of them.

02Prove 07-27-2007 08:43 AM

Bfg Mt

skeez2v 07-27-2007 09:51 PM

Nitto A/T Grapplers here. This is good all around tire and so far is wearing really well.

lambertdaman 07-27-2007 10:17 PM

I had mtr's on my jeep before, and they were actually pretty good. I run 35x14.5 boggers on my truck, they are good if you have load radio. i have dayton timberline mt's on my expedition and they are pretty good on the street, a little rubbin doesn't hurt. i think after my next lift on my jeep i will go with some procomp or some toyos. has anybody tried the pibull tires, i think thats is what they are called?

tiny terror 07-27-2007 11:43 PM
