roadtrippin?

hey all, im goin to be takin a road trip up to vermont, about a 7 hour trip. I know to do the usual, check fluids, tire pressure, brake, etc. My concern is heat. How are these I6's for the long haul? I got 35" tires and at least 4.56 gears (unkown what it came with it). Also how are those big tires for long highway use, ive noticed a tad bit of warmth to them after a long highway ride

Tires shouldn't give you a problem. I run my 33's (MTZ's) on 8 hour runs to Chicago several times a year. Usually pulling a 2500 pound trailer.
I do run up the pressure a little bit though. To around 32 psi over the normal 25.

If its just now starting to whine, you should be okay. If it's whining and leaking like a b**ch you might want to look into a replacement. If the pump seizes it will smoke your expensive serp. belt in a heartbeat.
