Europe jk soft top problems
Does anyone in Europe have problems with thier soft top not sealing around the windscreen frame.
I have 2 brand new full factory soft tops and the same problem occurs when fitting them.
I have watched the videos and taken my time and had the assistance of a mechanic friend (I have fully restored a 1976 CJ7 and had no issues with that roof) and installed the correct way but still the header bow does not seal properly against the top of the windscreen frame seal.
This basically means that because I can fit a cable tie inbetween that when it rains it will pour in to the car especially when driving in to the rain.
I have been in touch with Chrysler UK and been completely fobbed off and told to go to my dealer. UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE ALL CLOSING DOWN. So I then contacted my nearest dealer KINGS OF MANCHESTER (about an hour + away). I sent them pictures and a full explanation over two weeks ago and after my telephone conversation about 5 minutes ago it seems that I may be getting the fob off from them (But I have been told to ring back next Tuesday 29/06 so I will reserve judgement until then)
But this basically so far means that over £4000 worth of factory soft tops (2 of at over £2000 each) are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, all be it a very expensive one. Now I love the JK but find this intollerable that there has been a recall in America but they do not recognise the recall in Europe... (PROBABLY DUE TO THE FACT WE DONT GET THE WEATHER SO NOT MANY PEOPLE HAVE BOUGHT THE SOFT TOP OPTION)
Has anyone else experienced similar problems.
I have the same problem with a 07 JK that came with a softtop. Jeep Germany was not able to fix that problem.
There is a recall in the US that fixes that problem.
Is there a recall number or something like that?
Doesn't it help to warm the top up inside a garage for instance or better, letting it stand in the sun for a while? Are you sure you are putting it on in the correct order? I remember some threads stating the best order in which to attach it, despite some video's on the web.
