I ran into this problem and replaced the the steering gear assembly over the weekend. They say you can adjust the the steering box but mine was 14 years old and was time to replace..It took two of us...

Steering noise!!

I'm driving a 2000 wrangler sport... I got a lot of play and noise in my steering. I could be going down the road and the wheel will go 2 inches left or right and the jeep not turn but when it does...

When I replaced the cylinder it was outside in the snow so I only replaced the one side to just get it done,even when I was told by my old man to replace both, I probably should have listened

2000 Tj both door hinges are rusted and i don't see replacements in black just chrome....Any ideas??
