Just pull the upper fill plug and see if the level is still at the plug. I think a pinkie will fit in the hole if you can't eyeball it. Make sure you are on level ground.

The AX-5 transmission actually takes about 3.3 quarts of oil so you aren't as far off the mark as you think you are. Just taking a guess, I would have to say that you didn't get all the old oil out....

Try fuse #12 in the power distribution block under the hood. Should be a 10A fuse.

Could also check fuse 8 and fuse 4 but they are less likely to be the culprit.
