It's about 16.5 to 17 inches to the bar...

It's about 16.5 to 17 inches to the bar underneath. The 1/2inch difference is where the bolts come down.

I'm thinking the cover question is referring to some type of lens cover so we could stay street legal/pass inspection, then easily remove them when we hit the trails at night.

Anything like that?

Quick update on this. I ordered synergy ball joints, drag link, tie rod and a grade 8 bolt upgrade. I am also doing lockers/regear/axle armor kit in the coming weeks, so I'm going to have everything...
