This might not be well regarded advice on here, but a $10 shot of that fine copper powder rad sealer might do the trick. The stuff works and doesn't seem to cause any particular issues.

I know my bus has full floats as if they ever have to be towed, some guys pull an axle rather than getting underneath to pull the driveshaft.
