Front springs were super easy in and out. I'm not see about an aftermarket bumpstop. All I did for the rear is put the cup through the bottom of the spring before I installed it.

Yes it's no good. Don't use that cable any more. Even if the cords are still intact now that it been flattened your much more likely to snap it with less load.
