Also watch out for Right / Left hand drive frames. 00tj2 is correct; 97 - 02 frames will work. 03-06 will require a matching skid plate and a updated steering box or modification to use current one....

A couple quick ideas to try to narrow it down; Rotate the tires front to back and see if anything changes - Remove the rear drive shaft (as you said) and drive it with the front axle only.

Ford 8.8 and outboard shocks

Being a low clearance rig (only running 31's) I've beat up / crushed my rear shock mounts pretty good. I'm considering out-boarding the shocks so I can relocate heavy duty brackets higher on the axle...

Disconnect your front drive shaft at the axle and zip tie it to the frame. Go for a ride (in 2 WD ONLY) and see if it changes anything.

Keep in mind many flange nuts have a serrated face. A bolt, washer and nut assembly is more prone to work lose. Some blue Loctite wouldn't hurt.
