I replaced the OPDA with a Crown, and put a new OEM cam position sensor in. Same code. The gear showed some wear, but the cam gear looked ok. A bit of wear, but not terminal yet.

I don't know if it could be the problem, but the factory OPDA is still in this thing. 90K miles, so I'm thinking I should probably replace it with a Crown anyway. Could this be the issue?

Sheesh! I reseated every connector on the sensors, firewall, and pcm. I also went over the harness again. Nothing is melted, frayed, or close to the manifold. This time I got PO344. Looks like it...

OEM sensors for both. I've heard about parts house sensors before. I saw nothing obviously wrong with the ground strap, but I had one and decided to swap it out.

They should be able to order the right size if they don't have them in stock. For that matter, most good independent dealers should be able to order them. That's how I got my General Grabber AT/2s.
