Mine leaks too but only when it sits on a level surface. I know that sounds weird but I lived on a street where the road was crowned really bad and did not leak until I started parking it on a level...

Buy some extra ball bungees, long and short, never know if one will break on the trail, get snagged by a branch etc. Then use a short for the extra hole. But you only need three to make it work.
