Well, it seems we had installed everything...

Well, it seems we had installed everything correctly. So no obvious solution for sure. There was definitely uneven wear on the throw out bearing. The clutch spring was on the fork and ball correctly....

Thanks for the replies. We replaced the clutch, pilot bearing and throw out bearing. We just cleaned it with a paper towel.

Clutch mystery

This fall my clutch started a high pitched squeal when it was cold. After a mile or so it would stop. As time went on the squeal became constant. Most of the time it seemed like the throwout bearing....

Thank you all for the help. Tranny is off, and a very stubborn pilot bearing has been pulled (let's hear it for having the right tool). Clutch goes in tomorrow and I hope I am driving it to work on...

How many tranny mount bolts?

I have the 6 speed NSG370 in a 05 LJ
I have removed 7 mounting bolts. 4 big with nuts and 3 screws facing back towards the transmission. So far, it won't budge. Are there any more that I don't see....

Probably need to now replace the blower. If there were a bunch of leaves in there it could have caused the blower to draw more amperage leading to a shorter life. I replaced the one in my Wrangler...

Rancho divides their shock sizes as 0" then 2.5" and so on. If you have a 2" spacer lift would you buy the 0" length or the 2.5" length?

It never really got worse. It was throwing a code for an unrelated problem and I asked them check it out. They found nothing wrong, but did torque down a few things. Seems to be a bit better.

Just did my transfer case this weekend. Same issue, the fill plug was really stuck. Someone here turned me on to to BP Blaster. Let it soak for a day and I won't say it was easy, but it did come off....

Transfer case stuck fill plug

Any ideas? I have not tapped on it with a hammer as I am worried about cracking the aluminum case. It's a '05 LJ with the NP 231.
