If it's just the lid missing, you could fab a replacement. Piece of plywood, fabric/vinyl of your choice, a little foam padding. Add a hasp for locking.

No, fuse #4 is actually in the ground side of the interior light circuit. It does not effect power to any of the power/accessory jacks.

With doors off and headlights on it would be constantly dinging. That's why it's tied into that circuit.

If you don't have any extra spending cash, then leave your current engine in if it is still running correctly. Even having the replacement engine, swaps are not the cheapest thing anymore.

Agree. If you are buying new wheels get ones that match what you are looking for. Why make it more complicated. Adding spacers is just adding another 20 lugs nuts to keep tightened.
