iAmDanMartin is correct. I did this on both of my JKs. The only difference is I didn't use plastic razor blades; instead, I used a fingernail to begin lifting a corner. It's very easy if you follow...

I had a 2011 with a 6-speed and never had an issue with the clutch. I traded it in with 35k miles on it for my 2014, also a 6-speed (never owned an automatic). Drive them both and get a Jeep with the...

Thanks for the responses. To clarify, when I tow, I never use sixth gear. Hell, I can barely use it on a slight grade when I'm not towing. Downshifting is always necessary on a grade, and I'm fine...

I considered that, as well. And by the way, I'm a big fan of the TJs, but I needed a new vehicle with a warranty (life changes and all that crap). The 4.0 is an incredible motor.

3.8 vs. 3.6 towing questions

I searched and couldn't find the answer to my questions. I have a 2011 Wrangler Sport, 6-speed, with 3.21 gears. I tow a military trailer and a small travel trailer that's close to the 2,000 lb...

2011 engine light

As I was backing out of the garage this morning, the engine light came on. I pulled back into the garage and used another vehicle to run errands. When I came back, I checked the owner's manual and...

Thanks for the reply. I knew gas mileage would suck but thought there might be a noticeable difference in power/torque when towing. Looks like I'll wait for a diesel. Could be a while.

Can anyone comment on the difference when towing with a 3.8 vs. a 3.6? My specs are a 2011 2 door, 6 speed, 3.21 gears, and stock 17" wheels. My trailer is roughly 1600 lbs. The Jeep does pretty well...

I'm towing with a 2011 2-door Sport, 3.8, 6-speed manual, and 3.21 gears. The T@B is a bit heavy and has a huge frontal area, so my MPG is pretty bad, especially in the mountains. On our first trip,...

My 2011 has about 27,000 miles and it needed plugs. When I removed the plugs, all had the same burn coloration on the tips, so I know the engine if fine, but when removing the center plug on the...

$350 to change the plugs? I have a 2011 also and changed the plugs for the first time this weekend. I figured I saved about $100 or so doing it myself, not $300+.

It's really not that bad. Get a...

Every vehicle I've owned has been a manual, and they're all a bit different. Here are a few rather random things to consider. First, at a standstill on a level surface, put your Jeep in first gear...

The trip was great, but the gas mileage sucked. It tows easily, and I have a 3.8 with 3.21 gears (6-speed manual). The trailer has good road manners and is nicely insulated very useable.
