That about sums it up. Just way to many people...

That about sums it up. Just way to many people having issues with these heads, does not make sense to re-build with a head that is prone to failure.

do not re-use that piece of crap 0331 head unless it has TUPY stamped on it, might as well add a water pump into the mix.

Keep in mind if you re-use that cylinder head it will most likely cost...

X2 on the Curt hitch good quality, buttery smooth install. You can mount this thing in 30 minutes, if you anticipate heavy trails just take it off. Like I say 30 minutes on and off.

I too would stick with 03-04 or 02 but would verify that the cylinder head was the upgrade from the TUPY foundry. 05-06 you would be dealing with the opda issues.

Engine swap 4.0

I want to replace the 4.0 engine in my 2000 Wrangler, with the engine from a 2003 Wrangler.

Would I run into any problems with this swap, if so what would I need to address???

2000 4.0, cracked 0331 head led to the death of my engine. I had to push it to the point as to where I need to replace engine.
The shop doing the work is dealing with LKQ, which will be a ATK...

Did you have the same problem before new water pump? Do you need to keep topping off coolant level? Could it be a crack in the cylinder head, understanding 2000 4.0 0331 head. Pressurize the system...

Ya I used Alloy USA joints, they have needle zerk. They sit way to high in the C end. It looks like synergy's are the same design.

Synegry's appear to be too tall on the lower ball joint. Especially with the zerk fitting. The size of the Cv joint on the RCV's don't allow for much clearance of the ball joint in the axle "C"

Is it factory console?? Put into 4wd low, which will raise the handle up. It should slide right up and over shifter stem.
