Why not just disconnect the door light switch, a lot easier than pulling a fuse that could be powering other things.

Personally I keep my door light switches unplugged year round.

Well water freezes not so good for us northern people. RV antifreeze...I don't know much about it but liquids expand at a different rate than air and may cause air pressures to go too high at highway...

Anything below 15.5 volts is fine. Alternator should put out between 13.5-15.5v, if the voltage meter in the dash is pegged id have to guess the gauge is faulty.

No safe way to open a booster, the spring inside is pretty tough from what I hear. If you have a lighted boroscope you can pop off the vacuum nipple and peek inside. If not a long swab of some sort...
