I've left my ham radio plugged in and turned on...

I've left my ham radio plugged in and turned on for a week; no battery drain issues. Yes, it was an "oops". Radios at idle don't draw much power.

Any grease at all you can apply on the terminals for protection. I've even used wheel bearing grease. If you cover them up, there's very little room for corrosion to get in.
