In defense and sake of trying to sell my Jeep, I have never not done anything my buddy's with a 6 have done. I frequently find my little 4 popper yanking them out of some crap. : ]

33s-35s: you'll want 4.88s and definitely strengthen the rear axle or swap it out for a stronger unit.

31s: you should be OK with the stock gearing.
