The cable adjuster under the tub should only be adjusted to remove slack from the cables when the parking brakes aren't engaged.

Remove the tensioner pulley bolt (be careful since it will be under tension), you’ll then be able to pull the block with broken tension bolt out. Will make extraction easier.

Just a point of clarification, I don't know of anyone making new OEM steering gears. Even gears from Mopar are re manufactured. The only new gear I know of is the PSC Big Bore, but that's big $$.

Depends on the state. Either way I would imagine something like this extends beyond lemon laws, this is more than just a "defect", it's a serious safety/liability issue.

Yes rev matching is giving it throttle to bring the engine RPM up to where it needs to be on the downshift. Heel-toe is a way to rev match when you are braking and downshifting at the same time. IMO...

To add, TJs did not come with full time 4wd. There is a spot in the dash for it only because the same gauge cluster was used in other vehicles that did have full time 4wd.
