That's a good idea. Aside from attempting to hide noise I see no point in having it on. During the winter it might help with quicker warm ups, and retaining heat. In the summer it's probably useless.

I wouldn't touch it. UOA's have proven they don't filter air as well, and there is the possibility of voiding your warranty. Not worth it IMO. But opinions vary.
