It's just an algorithm using RPMs and other engine data to estimate when you should change your oil. It's not analyzing the oil in any way. Most guys don't follow it and change at 5, 7500, or 10k etc...

IMO you'll be fine with that. Ball joints aren't that bad to install if you have a good kit. I rented mine from Advance and knocked them out easily. Duratracs are a light 35 too.
