Just clear the codes and see if they come back. The "heater control" codes are for your O2 sensors.

Clean the IAC (idle air control valve) and see if that helps, if not then likely need to replace the IAC. The give away is that when you press the accelerator it starts up.

I would use a garden hose to flush the heater core, in both directions. Never use compressed air as it could damage the heater core. Once you do that, top the coolant off and get it to operating...
