Mine swings back and forth on normal city streets with just small bumps. It would never survive a trail.

I think I got the general idea. I used regular pipe clamps and white stick on window insulation to prevent scratching. I still have some tweaking to do, but at least it's up there and out of the way...

Does what you state, mean that as long as you don't surpass the tow rating of the Jeep, you should be able to 'control' the trailer?
