I don't regret painting them, but I'm always touching up nicks. Are the Ebay ones plastic? If that's the case and they are cheap I'd go that route

Why not just relocate the stock ones? I think you only get 1/4" lift doing that. I'll be doing that soon....when I outboard the shocks.

My 2 cents: do some small things that you wont have to redo later, that will make future plans easier. 1.25" body lift with 1" motor mount lift...very cost effective, will not affect you stock ride...

Don't rush. Do more research and get it all done right, my 2 cents. You'll need gear change, steering upgrade, brake upgrade, proper lift and bumpstop, D35s stock can't handle 35s offroad, drive...
