I used a 11/16" rod connector for $2.50 and...

I used a 11/16" rod connector for $2.50 and shaved it down to 17mm with a grinder. Worked great. I wasn't trying to pay $50+ for a 17mm internal hex.

I'm really not liking how some of these cages are lacking tube to the floor, as others have pointed out. That flat steel is nowhere as strong as a tube.
