I had similar issues and it turned out I just needed to clean the battery terminals. There's a cheap little tool you can buy which has a brush for both the terminal and the connector.

I've noticed the brakes on my '94 have gotten mushy and require significantly more travel than normal to brake. The reservoir is completely full, and the whole system was bleed less than a year ago....

Yup, I have enough experience not to try an extractor on a rusted in bolt like this. If you snap on of them off, you've just put yourself in a worse position.
