Thanks for the info. I'm no expert but I figured if the transfer case itself was busted it wouldn't run but it's nice to hear from someone who knows (way) more than I do. Is this a cheap fix?

It depends on how bad your springs are sagging. One that won't matter on how much lift you have is that your tires might rub against the springs when the steering wheel is cranked over at full lock....
