When you mounted the new tire carrier plate from JCR did you just go with metal on metal or did you buffer it some way to keep it from scratching up the metal on the tailgate?

pretty sure it's a Besttop Trecktop. My buddy got one for his JKU. Very nice but I'm not sure what you do with the back windows when you want to drop the top.

I am dealing with this for the second time in a few months. Once for my wife's and now mine. Just make sure that everything gets thoroughly looked at. I'm willing to bet your carrier was compromised....

I already have a new JCR bumper and tire carrier on the way. At least I'm not worried about that. It does seem to make the most sense replacing the tail gate just be certain. Thanks for the replies...

Tailgate replacement

My 2013 JKU was rear ended this past Saturday night. Guy basically nailed the spare which cracked the tire carrier, skuffed the bumper a bit, and put a slight indentation on the tail gate....

I have the same lift and tires on my 2013 JKU. Been running this way for a couple of years. Love it! My wife has a stock 12 JKU and I really prefer the ride to hers. Great choice.
