I would save yourself the time and just lightly...

I would save yourself the time and just lightly sand them and spray with krylon fusion. They are just going to get scratched again on the trails.

it may be cheaper to take it to an upholstery shop and have a new zipper sewn in. I had that done on a soft upper door window in the past.
