Thats funny,

Try removing the dash cluster and carefully clean the electrical connection and get a little dialectic grease to assure no corrosion occurs,

Yup, pull it and strap it up. do you have any of those Velcro straps? they work really well. I had the same setup, but eventually stripped them off completely.

Unfortunately the one under the seat will require the seat removal and bet ya some of those bolts are going to give trouble as well
