I'd have to disagree. Perhaps you're in too high a gear. The torque peaks at 4800RPM, so it's going to be pulling harder up until that point. I can barely keep up with traffic below 3000RPM but...

It occurs when going from drive to reverse (when on a decline), or reverse to drive (when on an incline). Nothing happens for two seconds after shifting, and then the gear engages very abruptly...

I noticed in mine that if I'm pointed uphill, shifting from "reverse" or "park" to "drive" isn't instant like it is on flat ground. It takes about 2 seconds...

I'm not worried about blowing a tire or damaging the Jeep. I'm on 33's at about 30psi and Racho's adjustable shocks set to the softest setting.

What I'm worried about is the constant hard hits...

Sounds like the TC is locking up (rpm's drop by 400) then unlocks again (rpm's increase) before the trans upshifts. Shouldn't be happening with constant throttle input.
