My np231 t-case blew up this morning in my TJ so I have to buy a new one.

What should I look out for when buying a used tcase?

any way to check if the chain is stretched or anything without...

my tj has the plastic cord too. but my cj has a locking gas cap so I just leave the keys in it while fueling up so I dont forget to put it back on

In florida, there are plenty of rigs on 37"/ 38" tires with a d30 & d35. As long as you leave the axles unlocked, check the condition of your unit bearings often, & dont drive with a lead foot...
