Looks like OP lives in Utah, I don't think the terrain is as severe as Colorado - IIRC, CO has 42 peaks at 14,000+ feet, passes at 10,000 feet. If you have a Rubi with 4.10 gearing you should be ok...

1. Not buying a JKUR instead of JKUS. I got 3.73s (had to get one with the tow package to avoid 3.21), but I will be regearing to 4.56 and add at least 1 locker when I go to 35s. Undecided about...

I'm assuming going from 3.21 to 3.73 involves new carrier assemblies, and going from 3.73 to a numerically larger gear would keep the same carrier. So for the OP - new gears, new carriers, probably...

I know this thread is over a year old, but here is my $0.02 (having just had most of this kit installed the past week). You don't really need the kit after a lift unless you are planning on putting...

My JKU is also in the shop right now for external RSE sleeves and C's. I get a call today from the dealer - need new rear brake pads - not quite metal-to-metal yet - and new ball joints. I have 32K...

How much tread wear on a MT before replacing

Opinions please. How much tread do you leave on your mud terrain tires before replacing? To the wear bars? 1/4"? More? I'm more interested in off-road use. My jeep's a DD, I will probably wear...

You can't really compare a true MT to an AT tire. The AT will win hands down on the road, especially if ice and snow in concerned, and the MT on the trail, especially in mud. I've run the following...

The hi-lift is useless for changing a flat on a JK/JKU with stock plastic bumpers. You could use it on a rock rail and jack from the side of the jeep, but if it slips you are looking at major sheet...

I would go with the full coil lift vs BB if you are going to add any amount of aftermarket weight on the Jeep. I had the dealer install as 2" BB when I bought my jeep, along with a winch, heavy rock...

Last time I had U joints replaced, it was done by the dealer. About 3 years ago. $200 per U-joint, including parts and labor. I figure the U-joint is a $30-40 part, so I was charged for 1.5-1.75...

I tend to think it is in the engine not the auto trans. I can slowly rev up the rpms in park, hear the whine get louder, then let off the gas and the whine goes away. No trans involved when in park.
