You can run it without the rear tailgate bar with no issues. I ran it for 3 months last summer here in rainy Washington. Itll still cover the back just won't be tight.

Upgrading cooling system

Got a new aluminum radiator, hoses, Zerex G05, and OEM thermostat. Should I also replace the water pump? What about any other parts to replace? Thanks, first time doing this at 145k.

Dexcool is not what is recommended by your manual. Zerex g05 or any HOAT coolant is what 2001+ jeeps use and I run it in my 99.

Purchased a viper remote start alarm system. How hard is it to install one of these? Keep getting quoted 250-400 to install. The most I ever done is installed a radio head unit. Am I out of my mind...

To update this went to work on it today and...

To update this went to work on it today and battery was almost dying. Lights and gauges worked but radio wouldn't turn on. Going to take the battery to be tested again
