that engine is reliable. I bought mine (02 X) around 145k miles. up to 65k now. no problems if it was cared for and you feed her fresh oil. I did have to replace the clutch at around 160k though....

mine's an 02'. always zipped both to the driver side to get it off. and it was always a PITA trying to get the zipper started to get it back on.

if yours is a frameless it's going to come off...

As far as aftermarket ones, couldn't tell you. I got an oem sensor. No more jumpy throttly or CEL.
