I bought a Warn Wireless remote for my M8000. Now I am safe from cable issues and can control my winch from hook end of cable. No worries about synthetic rope damage or getting dirty.

Just measured. They only stick out 3.25" from body sheet metal. With approx. 2.5" of useable step, since it is a round bar.
Probably too easy to slip if you try and use it as step.
