it may be cheaper to take it to an upholstery shop and have a new zipper sewn in. I had that done on a soft upper door window in the past.

It probably won't fit all the way down very well. my buddy's top is like that now. He just unscrews the frame hardware real quick and removes it like a hard top. Not as convenient, but it works.
