Do you even need the platform? why not just attach straps to the end of the cables? unless you are using the lift/platform for storing other stuff too. But it seems if all you are doing is lifting...

After looking again last night, i think the RACOR Hoist might fit being 4'x4'. The top's open back glass might be over the light fixture but i can live with that.

The florecent light fixtures in my garage prevent me from using the RACOR system. I'm sure the Racor systme is better, but do you think this one from Cabelas would do the job?
Its rated for 120lbs....
