What is this?!

Doing an engine swap and this bugger popped off as I was loosening the transmission/bell housing bolts. Popping the new engine into place right now and have no idea where this goes or what it is....

As far as the Torx bolts go, I've had nothing but good luck using a heat gun for about a minute, then using a breaker bar giving it a solid, clean turn. Came right out with no issues whatsoever....
