The size of your rim on a stock Jeep may impact performance but not a whole lot. Especially for an "asphalt warrior" like you describe.
The biggest tire you can probably fit with no lift is a 33"...

The kit came with shock adapters which worked pretty lousy. Never again, better shocks may have worked but I didn't want to bother with having just a spacer lift anyways. Time for the BIG DOGS:drool:
