I own one. Only used it once but it pulled a yj up a hill for about 75 feet. We had to anchor my tj to another jeep to keep it from getting pulled down the hill but the winch never seemed to suffer.

Oh. Pull the rubbery cup holder piece out and you'll find a bolt. Then take the rubber bottom out of the cup holder on the back and you'll find more bolts. Once those are all out it should lift off.
