Did it to mine and I didnt have all the symptoms that everyone talked about and it definitely helped with power. I would say you should you will like the results.

89 YJ new to me

Well guys just traded a 77 ford f 150 for an 89 yj. Jeep has the 4.2 and auto. Been fixing the stuff from the previous owner. Has a 4 barrel with offy intake and still had the cat and original pipe....

If you "just cut it off" when it is threaded into something. Once you get the part off you can weld a nut to the cut off bolt and the heat and electricity going through it will help loosen the bolt....

Name is Jake. Just got my first jeep its an 89 yj 4.2 on 31s. Not new to off road but new to jeep. In the shop now fixing the screw ups from the previous owner...
