I ran 31's on my stock 91 YJ Renegade with absolutely no problems. I did add a 2.5" RC Lift Kit, but not for the tires...the 31X10.50x15 did just fine before the lift

I'm betting that the CPS is your problem....mine drove me crazy with the same symptoms until i replaced the cps...be sure to get one for the automatic transmission....there's a difference in the one...

It could be the small sock fuel filter that goes on the end of the fuel pump pickup (in the tank). That'll cause symptoms like that, especially when you put the engine under a load as in taking off...
