Sounds like oily pavement/spilled diesel or bald tires to me. Wider tires may be even worse. Practice on a wet empty parking lot if possible.

I would rent an aluminum trailer and see how the Jeep handles it. As a RZR owner, I would recommend a flat bed pickup. Have fun.

I've owned several CB's, then family channel, and now VHF/UHF. Take a look at a BAOFENG UV-5R. The little radio works amazingly well and its inexpensive.

I rarely use OD in my 42RLE. No big deal as I lock out OD in the garage and use 2nd to get out of the neighborhood. 3rd is fine for most of my driving, let it rev a little.
