My original throw out beating lasted around 500 miles. Had it and the clutch assembly replaced under warranty. The replacement is still quiet after 30K miles.

If premium gas helped then it's not clanking valves, it's pre-ignition. You probably have some carbon built up on the valves and or spark plugs.

That doesn't sound right o me. My 2012 doesn't do that. The breaks should work regardless of whether the engine is on or not.

My transmission used to frequently jump out of 4 gear when it was brand new. Fourth gear also felt very vague compared to the other gears which, I think, was part of the problem. I could never tell...

Mine is the same, it downshifts from 3rd to 2nd much smoother than up shifting from 1st to 2nd.

I would say you probably need new calipers. I had a similar experience in a Bronco II I used to own. I would suggest replacing both at the same time.

Last summer I experienced the same thing driving 4 miles up a mountain in 4lo at roughly the same rpms you were running. I didn't have the AC on though.

I think its normal.

Did you check the hydraulic fluid level? The slave cylinder on mine started leaking almost as soon as I brought it home. It was replaced at around 400 or 500 miles.
