96-98 are also compatible, but you have to change out all the OBD2 sensors to OBD1 sensors. Or swap over your Jeep to OBD2, which doesn't sound like much...

Great advice so far - adjust the steering stops or buy some wheels with less backspacing. Backspacing of 3.75" is commonly recommended for YJs.

It's a pain and time-consuming to get one from the pull-a-part, and is generally more expensive than $150.
