Did you check fluid in diffs, xfer case and xmission also? and do a compression check on the motor, you never know how the previous owner drove it.

Replace the pulley. They're not that expensive. By the way, WD-40 sucks pretty much as a lube. White lithium grease is a lot better.

If you're worried about it, pull the bolts and put anti-sieze on them. Then run the bolts back up into the frame. That should keep the coating from sticking to the threads on the bolts.

I've found on long trips I get better milage with 89 than 87. That's with 10% ethenol. 100% gas I use 87. If I'm just putzing around town or wheeling I use 87 with or without ethenol.

Bad gas. Run a 1/2 tanks worth of gas through it with your favorite injector cleaner, fill it back up and do it again. That should cure it.

If it's really really hot in the summer or your engine has a ton of miles on it you can get away with running 5w40 or 10w40. Otherwise I'd stick to 10w30.
