I had this happened to my 2012 JKU the other day....

What bearings are you referring to? I have this bumper but I didn't have any bearings where the tire carrier mounted to the bumper. I just put grease between the two pieces of metal.

The only con to the kits is they are higher cost and potentially less flexibility than a DIY lift. Keep in mind the mounting and such is roughly the same effort regardless if it's a kit or DIY lift...

I went with the MT/R Kevlars. I only have 2000 miles on them but I am happy with them so far. They are much quieter on-road than I would have expected and work great off-road.
